Penny Black Challenge

Good day all and I'm glad to say... another day and another challenge card... this time around it's for the Penny Black challenge where this week we have been challenged to create something based around a colour scheme of Purple, Cream & Brown. Now would you believe I just happened to spy this little chappie and straight away I knew he just had to be the one to use on my card. He is one of my favourite PB stamps now whether that's cause I'm a bunny lover or it's just because he's so cheeky looking popping out from the pansies, I'm not quite sure. What I do know is that he was perfect on this occasion.

First up done some matting & layering with brown & lilac bazzill, combined with a little Laura Ashley paper then wrapped some brown ribbon around. The brown was layered straight onto the card, whilst the DP was layered onto the lilac & then mounted onto the brown using foam pads, just for some added dimension. Nesties were of course used and my image was stamped, coloured and layered onto some brown bazzill before being foam mounted on the card.

This was the perfect antidote for me this morning as it's a lovely colour scheme... and sadly I heard this morning that one of my old neighbours passed away on Friday morning... she was only the same age as me, married with 2 young girls. Unfortunately she was diagnosed with a very aggressive breast cancer earlier this year and doctors done everything possible to keep her alive to see her youngest daughter starting school. She was one of the nicest, most genuine people I have ever met and my heart goes out to her family at this terrible time in their lives.

Well, I'm off now as I need to pop into my next door neighbour as sadly her mum passed away earlier this week too... she did however live a good long life, but unfortunately she lived in Zanzibar so my neighbour was unable to make it to her own mum's funeral (they bury within 24hrs), so she has been in London with her brother for most of the week.
