Morning folks... well as you've probably guessed by now I'm having a bit of a clear out at the moment as my time is filled with commission work so not really getting a chance to craft for myself. It's a good thing really as we all know just how quickly our stash accumulates and when do we ever take the time to clear through it... oh.... never do I hear you say.... lol.
Anyway, I've got a pile of unmounted stamps so I've split them into five different groups... hopefully that will mean you're more likely to be able to enter for something you want as opposed to something you don't want.
First up is a pile of stamps that have been gathered from magazines... christmas, bags, shoes, flowers etc. If you would like a chance at winning these stamps then simply follow the rules below...
1. You must have an active blog
2. Leave a comment on this post

Lofty's Garden

Morning folks...can you believe I've actually managed to upload a card today...lol
Here I used some of my beautiful new basic grey papers which I added some additional ink to around the edge and punched a hole for my brad that hold the sign in place. I stamped my sign on white card stock, trimmed, then mounted onto a trimmed piece of textured cardstock. Punched two holes in the corners and threaded through some fibre which is held in place with brads. Attached it to the paper in the same manner, then layered onto a white base card. Next up I took a strip of textured cardstock, again inked the edges and attached to the base card. Used my nesties to cut a brown scalloped circle again from textured cardstock and also a white circle to fit inside. Stamped my Lofty image on the white circle and then water coloured using Sakura Stardust (dark & deep colours). Once dry I layered my image onto the scalloped circle and attached it all to the base card using 3d foam pads. Finally to finish off I added some beautiful Prima e-line flowers and card candy as they matched with the flowers I had water coloured on the image.
Oh well... guess that's enough play time for me just now... time to get back to business... let's see.... yes, better start with a quick clean around the house, followed by a trip to Asda then back here to get on with some more cards...
Will pop back later hopefully with another little piece of candy giveaway but in the meantime... have a happy day crafting....
Toodles.

I so cannot believe it.....

I'm so gutted today.... I cannot believe that ABC has made the decision to axe one of my all time favourite programs... Ugly Betty.... I've even got the theme tune on my mobile... no matter how I've felt in the past I have always been cheered up the minute I heard the theme tune... it's so vibrant and alive. In addition to that it was such a fun program that made you laugh aloud and with the crap viewing on tv these days it was wonderful to have such a show on air... Obviously some numb skull at ABC doesn't quite know what good tv is all about...
Okay folks... rant over for the evening... see you all again in the morning...

Mr Postie has arrived....

OMG... Mr Postie arrived today with my latest order from Mad About Cards... well at 29p a sheet how could I resist... 23 new sheets of Basic Grey papers and 2 sheets of alphas... had to lay them all on the floor to take the picture... lol. They are absolutely gorgeous... it was fun taking the picture as the sun was trying to shine on part of the papers which hid their true colours and even this picture makes them appear a little dull... trust me they are not... they are stunning and as I was looking through them, stamps from my collection were popping into my head saying use me... use me.... see even my stamps love them and they haven't even met yet.... lol.
Well best dash now as my day is a little muddled at the moment... started off with a surprise visit from an agent at 9am this morning (he caught me with wet hair.. just out of the shower, so need to rewash and dry again...), most of the housework is done, washing blowing like mad on the line... looks like a gorgeous day from indoors but gosh what a freezing gale it's blowing... need to pop to the supermarket then back indoors again to continue with some more samples and my inserts for the wedding invites... oh what a cruel evil life I have eh... lol
Catch up with you all later on again.

Winter aftermath....

Morning all.... today I thought I'd share some pictures of what was my beloved garden... sadly the harsh winter has destroyed most of the tropical elements in it... apart from that is my fake castor oil plant... it does have a few brown leaves that have to go but it managed to hang on quite well. I do find this picture quite amusing though... one side, all the plants are brown, the other side, they are all green. From this picture you can see that I will need to cut down my eucalyptus, my yucca tree and I also have to remove 2 large flax plants. My garden certainly is going to be very much on the bare side this year..

Just had to show you this close up of my poor Yucca tree... it was growing in my garden for almost 9 years so had achieved a good height and always made me smile when I looked out of the window.. now however... not a lot to smile about when you look at it's sad pitiful state is there... lol
Well time is moving on this morning so I guess it's time to get my butt in gear, get the work done and then move on to some more card making... always make you do the housework that little bit quicker... lol.
Toodles for now and catch up with you all later on again.

Souffle & Stardust...

Afternoon folks... here's another little something I've put together lately...

This is one of the flower fairies stamps (minus the fairy... lol) and this time I used another pen combination for the colouring. First up I watercoloured the image using Sakura Souffle pens... very often the pens that are overlooked as everyone thinks they are very matt in appearance but there are ways to change this. Once my souffle was dry I then put another layer over the top of the souffle by watercolouring on with some clear stardust. A little matting & layering on the card & voila... a complete card... oh almost forgot... I added the doodled dots with a coloured pigma micron pen.

Images & pens available here

Right I'm off now to wash some windows, do some ironing & squeeze in a little gardening too if possible.

Toodles for now and catch you all later....

Flower Fairy - Zinnia

Morning folks... can you believe it's Friday already... sadly it doesn't appear to be forecast for another scorcher of a weekend but I'm sure we'll all survive it... lol.
This is one of the Flower Fairies stamps called Zinnia and don't you think she is just adorable... by the time I coloured her in I realised that anything else I added to the card would simply be detracting from her beauty so I made the decision to keep it mega plain.
Image was stamped using Staz On and then water coloured using Sakura Stardust on the wings, Shadow on the flower & skirt and metallic on the flower stem, her top and legs. I then edged both the image and the black matt with a gold calligraphy pen before mounting onto my base card.
All items can be purchased here
Well... I'm off now to get the washing out on the line to dry... yippee... we have another day of sunshine today so going to make the most of it... windows to wash, grass to cut, another bit of weeding and pruning in the garden.... well there is rain forecast for the weekend so have to enjoy the sun whilst it's here... lol.
Toodles for now and happy crafting.

Race For Life....

Joanne
(sadly passed away from Ovarian Cancer)
Evening folks... I know that many of you will already have read about this matter but I am posting also for anyone who hasn't...
Joanne... was the cousin of one of our fellow bloggers... Amanda (scotspanda) who sadly passed away a few weeks ago after a fight with Ovarian Cancer.
Now, in memory of her cousin and to help raise funds & awareness, Amanda has decided to do the 'Race for Life' in Inverness on Sunday 9th May. She has set up a sponsor page and if you can spare even as little as £1 it would be a great help to her. Amanda is not a greedy person and would be so appreciative of any sponsorships received so if you would like to help her on her way then please click on the link below that will take you straight to her sponsorship page.
Thank you to all who have taken the time to read this posting and to anyone who gives a contribution towards the cause.

Morning folks... sorry I didn't get around to posting yesterday but I had a day of visitors... started off at 11am with my friend calling by with her little girl Charlie, my mum popped in too ( numerous times) then I got a surprise text to see if I was around... who was it from.... Amanda Bateman my very dear friend... oh what a lovely surprise to get in the morning and she was only a few hours away... So, come 1pm I had a change of visitors... Gail went on her merry way with little Charlie & then I spent the whole afternoon (into early evening) having a good old catch up chat with Amanda. Baguettes & cake for lunch.... along with tea & coffee of course... then sat back chilling on the sofa. Now if that wasn't a lovely surprise for the day then I really don't know what is.

What a glorious weekend...

Morning folks and what a glorious weekend it has been here and I hope you've all had a piece of the sunshine over the last few days too.... it's so nice to finally feel like the winter is over, thermals can be packed away for another few months and time to brush the cobwebs off the t-shirts... lol
Even though I haven't taken time to boot up the computer (far too nice for that) I have been busy crafting away in the sunshine and I will do my best this week to post at least once per day... should be easier now that I've had a little sunshine boost. At the end of the year we binned our old patio table and chairs as they were a bit kicked so there was panic around here on Saturday... all this sunshine and no-where to park our bums in the garden. A quick dash to the garden centre and back we came with a nice round wooden table & 4 chairs (all of which fold for easy storing during the winter months). Next up a BBQ for dinner so off to the supermarket for some hotdogs (my favourite), steak and burger for Rob, salad etc. Needless to say our bums were in the garden all day yesterday too... lol. Though I must admit it's not the nicest of sights at the minute... the hard winter has killed so many of my plants including my 8 foot Yukka and Eucalyptus trees... very sad... so they have to be chopped down and the remainder of the garden needs to be tidied up as well so that will be a lengthy process over the next few weeks. Have a feeling it's going to look rather barren by the end of it all.
Anyway, in the meantime here's one of the little cards I made at the weekend, very quick and simple layout. I stamped the image onto some card and water coloured using Sakura Souffle, then I stamped around the border using the tail of the bird image and a little inking. Mounted this onto some blue card then again onto the base card. At the bottom of the card I placed a layer of brown card, on top of which was some blue paper which I punched with some Fiskars punches, threaded my ribbon through and then attached. A little inking around the edge of the base card finish it all off along with some little gems.
Well, time to sign off again, need to do a quick dash around the housework then out into the sunshine I go along with my paper and pens to do some colouring... later on I'll tend a bit of the garden and if the sun keeps up, may well be BBQ for dinner again... lol.
Hope you all have a fabulous day.
Happy crafting

I've been poorly :-(((

Afternoon folks and please accept my apologies for being awol over the last few days but I've been a little on the poorly side.... been trying to keep work flowing as best I could but apart from that I've done nothing else. Old body just didn't want to play very nicely this week...
Anyway, here's a fun little card I made last week. I used a flower head stamp to stamp onto some coloured paper and then cut out, curled the edges then attached one layer on top of the other. Used a Pigma Micron to doodle around the edges, some ribbon became the stems & leaves then I attached my flower heads on top. Added some glitter to the centres just for a little sparkle.
Flower heads created using Stitchels Heart stamp set
Sorry this is short and sweet but I'm trying to make up for lost time now and still got a bit to do before organising tea and I would really like to sit down tonight and do a little crafting... well I do have a lot of lost time to make up for don't I... lol... any excuse will do... :-)
Okay folks, toodles for now and hopefully I'll be back tomorrow morning again.

Paint Your Own Picture...

I don't know if any of you managed to watch a lot of Create & Craft over the holiday weekend... so just incase you missed it... here is a little something new.
Paint Your Own Picture from Bruynzeel (sister company to Sakura)...
This is a fabulous new product that has just launched in the UK which allows you to download your own pictures to your PC then print onto canvas and paint. The image on the front of the box in this picture is infact a painting, not a picture.
At the moment this product is exclusive to Create and Craft so if you are interested in seeing how it works, keep an eye out for a re-run of the show or pop onto the Create & Craft website if you wish to make a purchase. Stocks however are currently running low so don't waste too much time... lol
Product code is 162 829
If anyone has already purchased this item and wishes to know any more about it, please do not hesitate to contact me and I will be happy to assist.
Well, guess it's time to get on with some more work eh, so I'll bid you all a fond farewell for the evening and will see you all tomorrow again.

Easter Weekend....

Morning folks... and happy Easter to all... hope you've all had a fabulous time over the last few days, filled with fun and laughter, and hopefully not that much chocolate that you ended up sick... lol
I've been busy all weekend making samples and working on a wedding order... but as they say... all work and no play leads to a very boring life... so... on Saturday we took a little jaunt into Glasgow to the Transport Museum... unfortunately it's current home is not set up to store these beautiful antiques correctly and the result being that they are now showing severe signs of damage... so as of April 18th 2010 the current location will close to the public for good. Thankfully there is a new building being constructed to house this wonderful collection and it will be opening in 2011 at Glasgow Riverside. It will be a climate controlled building so hopefully there will be no more damage to the wonderful treasures it houses.
Sunday... well that was more of a work day... got stuck in as best I could whilst Rob took a trip to the gym etc, then we popped off to Tesco to do the weekly shop... rather boring day all round I guess.
Monday... another jaunt into Glasgow... this time to the Burrell collection, Pollok House and Pollok Park. Well first stop was the Burrell collection, a little nosey around the artifacts etc then into the coffee shop for a bite to eat whilst looking out over the grassland... very relaxing indeed. Now I don't know if you saw it on the news or not but there was a relatively rare calf born at the park a few weeks back and how could I possibly leave without seeing it... lol... so off we trundled around the surrounding area on the look out for the new addition. Pollok Park is home to some stunning Highland Cattle and one of them recently gave birth to a rare colour calf (classed as silver), sorry the info is basic here but I can't even find the correct details on the net at the minute... and would you believe that when we found the gorgeous little creature, it was sat amid the top of a hill and I then realised that I had forgotten to lift the camera :-((( now how truly silly was that. Hopefully, we'll manage another trip in the very near future.. armed with camera of course and I will then be able to post a picture. Whilst there we decided it would be nice to have a walk around the grounds of Pollok Park and did we see the funniest of sights... the river was flowing rather quickly yesterday and there in the middle of it all was this little duck swimming back & forth quacking his little heart out... he was obviously enjoying his white water rapid ride and boy was it hysterical...
Well... the holiday weekend is past and it's back to business as usual today... need to continue with samples as they are due for delivery on Thursday then some more work to do on the wedding order... no rest for the wicked as they say eh !!! lol
Toodles for now and I'll be back soon.

Welcome to the Dragon's Den....

Now I would say good morning to you all... but hey... I'm just a little bit on the late side today to get away with that... lol... at least I guess it's still better than yesterday when I didn't manage to post at all. So sorry about that, but too much to do and too little time to do it all in... you know what I mean.... in addition to that I was feeling a little on the 'crap' side of life (quite literally)... thankfully I appear to be back to normal today which is a good thing as I have another long list to tackle.

Anyway, when I was at the NEC I didn't have much time to shop and what I did get I had to be careful about so I wasn't over my weight allowance... not much room in the old case you know when it's full of punches etc, and boy do they sure add weight to your case. Alas, this was one little fella I just couldn't leave behind... no way... he was definately coming home with me (in hand luggage of course to prevent breakage, just like my tea cup and saucer). He is just the cutest little dragon and is made from polymer clay... beautiful colours but my favourite parts are his nose & feather trim... cheeky little blighter that he is... he's already taken up residence on my craft desk and is not prepared to move...lol.
Well I just had to share with you and now I'm off to get started on today's work load but will pop back later to give you an update on some new shows on Ideal World.
Hope you all have a fab day full of wonderful crafting.
Hugs
