Daily Candy Add on

Oh gosh it has soo been one of those lazy Sunday mornings in my house... sitting having breakfast together & having a good old chat... mind you we haven't seen that much of each other over the last week so that may well be why... a little bit of catch up time.
Anyway, here is today's daily add on... it's a pack of American Crafts letter stickers... I know that so many people love them, myself included.... there are 177 stickers in total so you've got plenty to keep you going for a while.

Now hubby is pushing me out the door to go the weekly shopping so I will have to come back later to tell you about my trip out with Gayle yesterday & to show you a little creation I have made, now sitting all ready to have it's picture taken...
Leave your comment to enter the candy & stop by later to see my new completed project (using Sakura Metallics)..... oh they are just so lush... and remember there will be another addition tomorrow again...
Happy crafting & lots of hugs

Daily Candy Add on

Good morning again to all you lovelies out there in blogland... hope you are all fine & well today... have awoken to rather a miserable morning myself... heavy skies & quite high winds... I want my blue sky back..... hope your weather is better than mine today.
Alas, I must not care too much, as after I have finished this posting I am off to get ready then go pick up my crafty buddy Gayle and we are going a little jaunt to our local Hobbycraft for a few things... shame I'm picking her up at 11am as this means that we will probably have to treat ourselves to lunch in the process.... oh boy...
Before this however, I thought I better upload today's daily candy add on which is so much more beautiful in real life than appears in the picture. There are 8 laser cut geisha silhouettes, 2 each of 4 images... I really love these as they are truly neat when your card is finished... they look wonderful simply used as black on white & also pop off the card when used with oriental blossom etc...

Sorry again about the picture...

Same rules apply... leave a comment, link on your blog if you wish (not compulsory) and pop back tomorrow to see the next add on....
Only a few more days left....
Have a happy crafting day & I'll be back after my shopping trip with another new creation.

Quickie

This is just a wee quick make that I have done this morning... had to get the old fingers crafting asap as I've been so deprived of actual card making of late... yes plenty of demoing but it's not the same as coming up with a completed project...
This was so easy to make... all items with the exception of the gems are from a Craftwork Cards goody bag... I punched a few holes using my Fiskars eyelet setter to thred the ribbon through, then attached some card candy over the holes... tied a small bow for the top of the lace... 2 flowers with a sentiment on top and the gems...
Now you really can't ask for an easier make can you...
If you've not already got a goody bag and are not attending any shows then they are available for purchase from their website... they are only £10 & contain over £20 over products... a true must have.

Well off to do a quick tidy up as mum will be arriving shortly, then when she disappears again I will be straight back to my crafting...

Daily Candy Add on

Good morning all my lovelies out there in blogland & believe it or not I actually have quite a nice sky where I am at the moment so fingers crossed it stays that way for the rest of the day...
Well here is today's addition to the daily candy add on & to be honest I am wondering how many of you already have a screwed up face trying to figure out what it actually is.... for anyone who has guessed it already... well done you....
I do like to try different things , textures & materials from time to time & I know that very often we would like to give something a try but then decide to spend the money on our good old trusty stuff. So I decided to throw something different your way...
Yes I know it looks strange in the picture but it is infact Stampboard...

Now if you've never used Stampboard before, may I suggest that you visit Glenda Waterworths blog as she really is a bit of a whizz kid when it comes to techniques you can use on this...

As normal to enter, simply leave a comment here & link if you wish... I do actually read all your comments even though I haven't had time to visit anyone of late but am planning on doing so over the next few days... sorry about that.. just the way my schedule has worked out of late..
I'm planning on having quite a crafty day today so keep fingers crossed that all goes to plan...

It's good to talk...

Well folk the end of the night is almost upon us & I do feel slightly lazy today...
Early afternoon I meandered on down to my craft group for a catch up with the ladies to see what goodies they purchased at the SECC & also to present them with a lovely box of goodies and a fabulous hand made card from our very own Kath which she so kindly asked me to pass on to them...
Kath honey if you are reading this... all the ladies have asked me to say a very big thank you on their behalf... I will speak to you personally anyway to thank you for your generosity...
Upon leaving there I had some stash to pick up then headed off to Asda for a few essentials that hubby forget to buy at the weekend... you know things like MILK !!!!!
Now you know how every so often you go to the supermarket & you meet everyone you know... well today was one of those days... it took me almost 2 hours to get £20 of stuff... think I spoke to more than 20 people...
Well if you cast your mind back to just after my operation last year... Kath paid me a visit when she was working the SECC and unfortunately when we left to drive her home I took ill in the petrol station and poor Kath was abondoned there to get a taxi... well wait to you hear this... today I met the girl who was working the petrol station that night and although she didn't see me in the forecourt she thought she recognised my hubby & his number plate... put two & two together & realised it was infact me who was ill.... she very kindly called the taxi driver who she personally uses all the time as she knew that I would be worried about Kath & that way she knew that Kath would not be ripped off on charges & that she would get back to her hotel safely.. I found it quite amazing that I only found this out so many months after the event but is it not amazing how kind people can be to others during a crisis...
Kath.... I've to say Hi to you from her & the taxi driver said you were such a lovely lady & a very good tipper...
Righty I'm off to bed now... getting used to these earlier nights now instead of my old 2am stunts and tomorrow my mum & her hubby are coming to visit for a few hours, step daughter & boyfriend are visiting tomorrow night apart from that I'm planning on having a day in the house. Think I'm going to have to do the basic essentials housework wise & spend some precious time crafting... oh I can't wait & am excited at the thought of it...
Till tomorrow my lovelies... nighty night...

Daily Candy Add on

Sorry the daily candy posting is late today but I've been sorting the Fiskars pics for the previous posting... why when you have it looking good during the creation does it never publish the same... oh well... finally resolved the matter so that's all that matters....
Well today's addition is some lovely chipboard embellishments in nice spring / summer colours... just what the doctor has ordered of late I think... so many of us are tired of all the rain & snow we've encountered of late....

As usual to enter, simply post a comment & place a link on your blog if you so desire... I have been asked if you have to link daily.... please note that linking is optional... not a requirement so it's completely up to you....
I'm going to pop down to my craft group this afternoon for a wee hour... would love to be there the full day but have so much to catch up on at home that I simply don't have the time... invoicing etc to be done which has to take priority... hopefully though I will have time to make a little creation later on.
Hope you all have a fabby day crafting.

SECC pics

Well a very good morning to all you lovelies out there in blogland...

I do hope the day has found you all safe & well ready for some fun crafting if you have time to fit it in todayNow I had a lovely surprise last night when I received an email from the gorgeous Severine who is now back in sunny France, which included some pictures she had taken of the stand last Saturday morning before the show opened at the SECC.

What a shame she is not in any of them though, so next time around we will have to make sure we get a picture of her... what a gorgeous lady she is & although she is currently 6 months into her pregnancy you would never know it... a tiny little bump (and I do mean tiny) but still so full of energy.

We had a really fab time working on the stand and apparently on Saturday it was noticed by so many traders that I actually spent the whole day bent over demoing... before the show even opened on Sunday I must have been asked at least a dozen times how my back was... isn't it nice when people take time out of their busy schedule to ask after your well being... I must admit I was extremely touched by themIt was funny though when they said that all they ever saw of me was the top of my head & back...

I must admit I was a bit stiff on the Saturday night & I was attending a Silver Wedding Anniversary. One thing that does pop into my head is trying to stretch my back whilst driving the car to the party...

What we had on the stand was for display & demonstration purposes only, but as well the new corner border puches & the (new to the UK) border punch we all know so well as Threading Water.... please note in the UK it is known as Scalloped Lace...

We also displayed some of the new Cloud 9 papers. These unfortunately were not available from any of the retailers as they had not received any stock... Boo Hoo.... never managed to get any for my stash.

However all said & done... it was a magical weekend where we shared many a laugh & giggle... these things happen when you're working in close quarters with one another... squeezing past each other, bumping bums etc... it's all in the name of fun & for me that is what crafting is all about... meeting people, exchanging ideas & having a giggle... that sure did happen around our stand for the full of the show.

I would also love to say a huge thank you to everyone who stopped by the stand to say hi to me... we had a pile of Fiskarettes, and if you've not already joined up you should do... just pop along to http://www.fiskarettes.co.uk/ and sign up... all those who attended were given a goodie bag...

We also had a load of bloggers, people from the craft group I attend, other demonstrators I know who were not working the show, Lynn from Ink Spot in Hamilton, Lynn from Hobbycraft in Glasgow & Sheonagh from Telfords Direct who I design for...

The saddest part of it all was that I didn't get a true opportunity to spend time with any of these lovely ladies... it was more a quick hello then back to demoing... for that I do apologise to you all... I wish it could have been different but hey when you're being paid to work.... that's what you have to do...

Final thoughts on the matter........... Roll on October.......... here's to everyone meeting up again.

Included in the pictures are myself (black & white cardigan), Archie (who lives only a few miles from me), Reena (black cardigan) who is moving to a new department although we do hope she will help out in the future, and last but by no means least Kat (white t-shirt) who is helping by job sharing the take over of Reena's position so we will be seeing more of her....

Hope you enjoyed the pictures & have a happy day crafting...

Big hugs

Daily Candy Add on

Well here's to another wonderful day for all of us... I've had to rely on good old Mr Blogger again to upload this on my behalf as I'm off to do some training today at Hobbycraft so I hope he works for me again...

Today's add on is a pack of beautiful handmade papers in different shades of blue... there are approximately 100 sheets included in the pack and they are fabulous for use as a background, stamping on and oh they do make the most stunning flowers...

Same rules apply as always... leave a comment, place a link on your blog if you wish & have a happy day full of crafting... then pop on by tomorrow again to see what the next addition is...

Hope to be back later with another creation.

2sketches4you

Yippee at last I've managed to join in with a challenge again for some fun.... seems like forever although it's only been a week... Hopefully I'll manage a few more as the week goes on...

This week over at 2sketches4you the challenge has been set by the lovely Laura & what a fab sketch & perfect for me to use some of my new goodies I bought at the Hobbycraft show at the SECC.. not that I managed to buy much as I only got a half hour lunch each day & by the time I fought my way through the public to buy a sandwich, eat it & pop to the loo... well lunch was over & it was back to work...

However I did manage to grab some stash from Craftwork Cards which worked perfect for this challenge....

The twig & owl have been cut using a template & all the card, papers, ribbon & card candy are from Craftwork Cards too... only thing I added was some ink around the edges a few punched leaves, glue & silicone (the twig & owl are 3D)...
Hope you like...
Huge hugs

Daily Candy Add on

Good morning again all my lovelies out there in blogland... hope the weather is nice where you are... I actually have a bit of a blue sky at the moment so hope it lasts the whole day....
Yesterday definately turned into a bit of a slow day for me... done a little housework then took a rest & by mid afternoon I gave in & had a little nap. Thankfully I managed to get most of the house under control again & had a super sleep last night so feeling more like my old self today.. which is good as I have to get organised for tomorrow.. pack kit do some projects then I can play with any time I have left...
So here is today's daily candy add on.... it's one of the new Finger Tip Swivel Knives from Fiskars... unlike the original finger tip knife which had a normal sized static blade, this one has a small blade which also swivels so more apt for any delicate work you may be doing...

Normal daily rules apply... leave a comment & place a link if you wish... then stop by tomorrow again for the next addition...
I'll hopefully be back later with a little creation of my own...
Hope you all have a wonderful day & happy crafting.

Daily Candy Add on

Well good morning to all you lovelies out there in blogland... apologies for loading today's candy at a later time but I'm actually sat at my computer in person doing it... not relying on Mr Blogger following instructions... although he supported me 100% thankfully...

It felt so strange this morning not to have the old alarm bells ringing in my ear at 6am so had a bit of a lie in to help recovery... currently still sat here in the pj's & fluffy slippers but not for long... as soon as I've finished my posting I'm off to jump in a nice hot bath... my wee feet are still thumping a bit...

Today I'll definately be having a good clean of the old house as hubby has been here on his own so you can just imagine the states of the place... gonna have my work cut out for me that's for sure...

Hopefully once I get moving it won't take all day (probably just the next 8 hours)... then I can have a little blog hop... barring that if I've collapsed in a heep by the time I've finished will have to visit you tomorrow....

In the meantime... here's today's addition to my daily candy add on... it's some lovely black & white scalloped edge rectangles from Craftwork Cards... cut in different sizes all ready for matting & layering.

All you have to do now is leave a comment, add a link on your blog if you want & remember to pop back tomorrow for the next addition....

Hope you're all having a fabby start to your week and I hope to visit you all soon.

Evening All

Well just a brief post to say Hi to you all as I feel like I have left you abandoned for so long...
It's so hard to believe that the Hobbycraft show at the SECC is all over with now... gosh how can I not believe that I can actually lie in tomorrow morning with no alarm sounding me out of bed at 6am....
This morning was really fun as when I got up it was wet outside having rained during the night... whilst in the bathroom getting ready... you know how you can see the shade of the sky via the window but nothing more due to the frosting... well... one minute it was very dark grey & dismal looking... off I goes with the make up brushes etc then onto the hair... golly gosh... next thing I noticed that the colour outside the window was very very bright... popped into the bedroom to peep outside & can you believe it... the place had turned completely white within 10 minutes...
yes we had more snow....
Hastened my pace a bit not knowing what the roads would be like... donned my boots & off I set... stealing hubby's big car to keep me safe... thankfully the road was quite quiet as for most of the journey you couldn't even see the road markings so it was a guessing game of whether or not you were actually in the lane or not... then by the time lunch arrived & I popped out for fresh air... there was no snow... it had all gone again... typical Scottish weather.
Well we finished up tonight at 5pm, took till about 6pm to dismantle everything & get it loaded on the truck then off to travel home... I've had a lovely hot soak & spent the evening in my trackies & fluffy slippers relaxing..
Now I have tomorrow & Tuesday at home then off to Hobbycraft to do some staff training on Wednesday so have a little prep work to do before then.
Normally I would be setting my post time for tomorrow's blog candy but instead I have going to wait until morning so I might actually get a decent pic for you & I will post live so it may be a bit later by the time I wake up...
Hope you've all had a fabby weekend & I'll be back with you all again tomorrow...
Big hugs

Daily Candy Add on

Hi my lovelies & thanks for stopping by....
Sorry I haven't managed to leave any wee updates but have been socialising for 2 nights in a row now... last night (Friday) I ended up in the Hilton with Amanda, Stephanie, Craig & Karl for a few drinks... then tonight I had a silver wedding party to go to...
I'm now typing this at twenty to one in the morning & I'm up again at 6am... hence I am keeping this brief as need to get to bed...
Here is today's addition to the daily candy add on....
Some really yummy card candy from Craftwork Cards... aren't they just delicious....

As per normal... leave a comment & add a link to your blog... then check back tomorrow again for the next addition...
In the meantime, until normal service resumes here... Happy crafting....
Huge hugs & thanks to everyone who has visited me so far at the Fiskars stand....

Daily Candy Add on

Sorry about the picture folks but it's about 2 mins till midnight so had to use the flash.... next item I have added to the daily candy add on is some Fiskars templates... now I know these are designed to be used with the shapecutter... but if you don't have one, you can simply draw around the image & then cut out using either a pair of scissors or craft knife.... This set includes 3 templates in total... 2 of which cover your alphabet & your 3rd one is numbers.... now we all need these at some point in time... be it anniversaries, kiddies birthdays etc... so thought it would be quite good to include. I know that a lot of the die cutting machines can do these for you but the point is that not everyone has the luxury in investing in these machines so this is your alternative method to produce a similar end result.

At the end of the day, if you win & don't want them... simply put them on your blog as candy or whatever... these also make great pressies for kids...
So... post your comment, add a link on your blog if you want & check back tomorrow to see what's new...

As before leave a comment & feel free to post a link on your blog... you know me.... the more the merrier...
Remember to check back tomorrow morning again for the next instalement...
As for what I'm up to today... yippee my second day at the SECC.... may actually get a chance to do some shopping...

Sorry it's late

I had intended to post earlier but after my first day back on the job today I simply came home.. got into my trackies & ate my Mc Donalds.... the watched some tv.... it's a long time since I've been on my feet the whole day but boy did I enjoy myself & this was helped along by all the lovely visitors I had... I will list them all next week when I have more time on my hands... but right now I'm off to bed for some well needed sleep as I'm up at 6am again in the morning...
For those of you who were at the SECC.... thank you all for coming to visit, for all the hugs I got & also the lovely pressies I received... you are all such a wonderful crowd... shame I didn't manage to get away from the stand to spend some time with you. Can't wait to see what you all bought.
Anyway, nightie night. Candy add on will be upload again at 7am so long as Mr Blogger behaves himself.
Hugs

Daily Candy Add on

Well good morning my lovely peeps... by the time this is uploading I will be about ready to leave the house to start & make my way to the SECC....
Seeing as today is opening day & I will be working on the Fiskars stand, it seemed quite appropriate that today's add on be something from Fiskars...
I have chosen to include this large heart squeeze punch. Very easy to use & can be used for your scalloped edges & flowers as well as just being a heart....

As per yesterday, make sure you leave a comment on this post so your entry can be counted and please do feel free to put a link on your blog if you wish....
Happy crafting my lovelies...

Another yummy gift

Now am I a lucky girl or what as today I had yet another gorgeous card, complete with scrummy pressie arrive for me....
These came from the wonderful Tracy & her gorgeous daughter Holly.... I'm sure you all know them well as what a talented pair they are...
My pressie contained a pack of gorgeous flowers, yards & yards of ribbons & some absolutely delightful stamped images which I can't wait to work with....
Now how can I not feel special having received all this lot along with my fabby dabby card, which like all my other lovely hand made cards I have received, have pride of place on my mantlepiece so that everyone can see & admire them.

Well that's all for today folks as I'm off for an early night in bed... definately need my beauty sleep tonight as I have an early start in the morning & some lovely buddies to catch up with at the show tomorrow....
Your next lot of blog candy will be posted at 7am tomorrow morning...
Big hugs

Daily Candy Add on

Morning everyone... hope you are all up nice, bright & early & more importantly... feeling good...
Now you may or may not know that I had to withdraw from demonstrating at the SECC in October last year as I was recovering from surgery so believe you me I am so happy that I am fit enough now to tackle it.... only wish my good buddy Kath was going to be by my side... we really do have quite a hoot when working along side one another... last time we could have done with some Tena Lady....
Well in order to celebrate me getting back to work & seeing as my first big job is literally on my own door step, I have decided to do some blog candy with a difference....
What I am going to do is something new on to the candy every day for the next 2 weeks.... that means that at the end of it you will receive no less than 14 different items either to use or add some blog candy of your own....
First on the list is this Artisan jewellery making kit which contains beautiful glass beads... now these can be used for jewellery, but likewise can also be used on your cards or scrap pages...

The rules.....................................................
Easy really... simply leave a comment on any of the daily blog candy links & you will be counted.
If you comment on all 14 days then you will be entered 14 times....
Well hope you like my little twist on blog candy & you never know what could appear if I find something special at the show...
Big hugs

Can you believe it ....

Evening folks... just thought that before popping off to bed I would share a little picture with you... this is what I can see from my window tonight....
Oh boy it only started to snow about an hour & a half ago... before that it had been raining very heavily so really didn't think the snow would lie... but alas.... it's white again...

Would love to hear who all else has had snow as I really thought that winter was behind us now...
obviously that's what I get for thinking too much...
Well I'm off to bed as physio wore me out again as well as dashing around making sure that there is enough supplies in to keep poor old hubby & the animals going while the SECC is on... you know what men can be like...
So nighty nighty my lovelies & see you all tomorrow.
