Winter scene

Afternoon all.. Here's one of the samples I made for the SECC.. The background paper is from a paper pad, the house, mini wreath and sentiment come from the one set of stamps (Butterfly Kisses) and the snow flake is a Martha Stewart punch.. Coloured using Promarkers, snow on the house is liquid applique and I use my quickie glue pen and glitter just for a wee bit of sparkle.

One job done

Well that was a mad dash.. Was just getting ready to move and make a start on the day when the phone rang.. Lovely delivery man to tell me they'd be at the house in approx 10 mins with my new sofa.. I'm still in pj's!!! So ran upstairs to throw on some trackies and a jumper, downstairs to clear the window ledge so they can use it for moving the sofas, grabbed my demo stuff and threw it in the hall, hunted the cat upstairs, quick hoover of the carpet and they guys were here.. They were as quick as I was.. One sofa out and into the van and the new sofa in and against the wall quick as you like. Less than 20 mins from I received the call.. They've left and I'm sat on the new one with a cuppa in my hand. Lol.

Hopefully the rest of the day will be easier now as it was all having to fit in around the delivery before. Going to finish this wee coffee first then I can get my day organised. Keep your fingers crossed for me.

I recognise this phone!!!

Morning all, just a quickie to start the day. I've got so much that needs to be done today before I leave for the NEC tomoz but decided to start with a seat on the sofa, large intake of caffeine and a wee bit of Kirstie's Handmade Britain.. Low and behold.. One of the first examples shown was this fab telephone which I recognised instantly. Lol. I was aware that Kirstie had borrowed a few samples from my lovely friends Anni and Yvonne at Damselfly Crafts for the show and here is one of them. So funny to see it popping up on the tv screen.. Just had to share it with you all but I'm going back to my coffee now whilst I watch the rest of the show.

Light alert

Morning all and just a quick note from me.. If you drive can you all do a winter lights check on your car lights please. I've passed 2 cars this morning in the dark and rain with NO rear lights whatsoever and 1 of them only had one front light too!!!! 2 bad accidents just waiting to happen.

It only takes a minute to check them and it could save a life.

Morning..

Well a very good morning to all you lovely folk out there and my apologies for the lack of blogging the last few days but its been non stop here and I mean non stop.

Wednesday got off to a fantastic start all calm and organised. Set up at the SECC went smoothly but then at 10pm shortly before heading to bed the volcano erupted and it was all systems go again which resulted in it being 3am before I got to sleep and the alarm went off again at 6am. Off to the show I went, had a lovely 30 minute break at 2pm where I managed to have a quick chat with a couple of people, but had to be satisfied with a bag of crisps as all sandwiches were sold out!!! Think I'll be buying lunch at 9am today. Lol. So when I got home last night I chilled on the sofa for a while, had a nice chinese for dinner then soaked in a bath before getting some much needed sleep.

Right now I'm off to get my make up on whilst drinking another cuppa of yummy coffee.. Well a girl needs plenty caffeine at this time in the morning. Lol. All going to plan I'll be heading out the door in a half hour for a nice leisurely jaunt to the show and hopefully I'll manage to catch up with some lovely folks before the doors open.

Calm before the storm

Afternoon all on what has actually been a pretty good day weather wise.. Let's hope it lasts!

Started with a nice lie in till 10.30 as it's my last for a while. Lol. Then got myself organised and poddled off out to do some ceramics and relax with the girls for a few hours (even more giggles than normal this week). Now it's back to normality, put the washing machine on and made a quick cuppa which I'm having as I type. Next I need to get the house in ship shape order so I don't have much to do over the coming days. Will start with the hoovering & dusting upstairs, quick wash down of the bathroom & en-suite then I'll get downstairs done. Tomorrow morning will be a quick tidy round before heading off to the SECC to meet up with everyone for set up before coming home to get my clothing organised for the 4 days (like to have them all just hanging up ready to pull on), demo kit to pack, eyebrows to shape, nails to file and paint etc, etc. Then it will be early to bed as the alarm will be ringing aloud at 5.30am Thursday morning. Snooze gets hit for the 1st half hour then I'm up, make the coffee, get ready and I'm out the door around 7.15am. Never quite know what morning traffic will be like heading in to Glasgow so I like to be on the safe side, though I normally arrive around 8am.. Giving me time to have a wander around and a wee chit chat before the doors open and off we go.. A day filled with demo's, lunch if you're lucky then re-stocking the stand in the evening before leaving for home. Soon as the front door is open, the shoes get kicked off, hubby gets my dinner on and I collapse on the sofa.. Wee soak in the bath and off to bed ready to repeat the process the following day.

Next Monday, I've got my replacement sofa being delivered, house to get spick & span again, case to pack for the NEC, halloween bags to make up then I can sit back and watch all the ghouls coming round for trick or treat. Then Tuesday I'm off in the van heading down to Birmingham to repeat the whole process over again.

Guess it's time to make a move now as the fairies aren't going to do the cleaning for me.

Later tonight I've also got to finish an order for a 65th birthday.. 1 card already done (mum) and another 2 to go (gran and great gran).

Simplicity

Afternoon all.. Well I've got a nice ham joint roasting away in the oven along some with potato gratin and I can't wait till it's ready as it smells delicious.

Had a lazy start to the day as one of my wee bunnies passed away, then hubby made lunch before I done some housework. Since then he's popped off to the gym and I've been playing with more stamps so it's been pretty chilled all afternoon and I think tonight will be a veg in front of the tv night with a big box of chocs.. Lol
Right, I'm off to have a nosey in the oven so will catch up with you all again later. Hope you all have a scrummy Sunday.

Down the street

Afternoon all.. Busy here working on samples today. Can't believe it's only a matter of days now till the show at the SECC, seems to have flown by. Thought I'd give you another wee sneaky peek to keep you going.. This time it's been coloured using AquaMarkers.

Not much else on the agenda today apart from the weekly shop and tomorrow I'm off to pick up some new tops for the NEC. Good excuse to treat myself. Lol.

Woohoo... Just had a fantastic phone call and I'm off to the NEC for the ICHF show.. So excited and looking forward to meeting so many avid craft enthusiasts during the duration of the show.

Now I need to curtail my excitement and get back to working on my samples for the SECC.

Family day

Evening all and apologies for the lateness of today's post but I was off visiting family today. It was a well overdue visit and I won't be leaving it as long again.

The afternoon was spent drinking coffee and eating scones whilst catching up and my cousin's wee girl Abbi was there too providing plenty entertainment. She's very quiet and well behaved but some of the looks you get when you say something silly are nothing less than classic.. Certainly has a few of her mum's characteristics in her. Lol. Another visit is planned for a fortnights time so really looking forward to that now.

Alas, it's time to get back to work and the last of my kit for the secc arrived this morning so I've got plenty to keep me going from now till then.. And without further delay.. I'm off to do some more stamping and colouring.

Hang up..

Afternoon all on what is a lovely sunny day but bbbrrrrr is it cold.. Lol. Lucky I've got plenty to keep me busy indoors just now so I'm certainly not bored.

This morning started with some more fairy painting and I've just connected by 'home sweet home' sign with some coloured string.. Now that's done it's time to spend some time on my samples for the secc.. Told you I had plenty to keep me busy on this cold day!

Taking time out..

Evening all.. Lots done today, housework, ceramics (2 baby plaques and 1 snowman complete), market, chemist and now I'm going to do another bit of painting.. Oven heating too for my pizza so I will need to take another wee break to eat it. Lol

This little fairy is what's on tonight's agenda so I'll do all the heavy painting tonight and finish her off tomorrow in daylight.. Well I don't want her looking like aunt sally with too much blusher on her cheeks do I else I'd need to give her a good scrub and start over again!

Right.. Off to get the pizza in the oven now and make a start with my brush strokes.. Catch you all tomorrow again.

Snow is falling..

Evening all.. It's been a busy old day here, thankfully all indoors though as it's been freezing and raining all day.. Even had to turn the heating on about 3pm as my fingers were ready to suffer frost bite I think.. Lol

Amongst today's duties, I was working on my shadow box again so now have all the snow and glitter on the rooftops, moon etc.. All layered up now too which means the next job on the list is decorating the frame.. Hhmmmm wonder how long it will take me to decide what all is going to be added!!!

Anyway, it's time to dish up some dinner as I'm starving and then decide what's on tonight's agenda.

All primed..

Well I've painting today again.. This time around I've been putting the base coat on my christmas decorations.. 2 coats to ensure there's a good base on them.. Lol

Need to stop for a wee while now as it's Sunday afternoon so off to spend some time with hubby before work recommence's later.

It's snowing..

Well it is in my shadow box anyway.. Lol

It may be Saturday but I get to work and play at the same time.. This morning is being spent doing another bit on my shadow box so thought I'd give you a wee sneaky peek even though it's not been layered up yet and the actual snow has still to be added but it gives you a wee idea of the direction I'm going in.

Sadly it will soon be time to move, some housework, washing, and weekly shop to do later on too, but I'm sure I'll still be able to fit some more crafting in today.

Winter's coming

Afternoon all.. It's been a bit of a mad week as my beloved Blackberry wasn't working for 3 whole days!!! Discovered just how much I rely on it now and how much easier and time efficient I am when I have it.. Lol

In brief.. A lot of Monday was spent figuring out what was happening with my phone, Tuesday was housework, ceramics and then visited my friend as her wee girl turned 5.. So sweet and what a stunning cake her aunt had baked for her too. Yesterday I spent the whole day cleaning the house from top to bottom then finished off this wee scarf for my other friends wee boy. Today it's been washing and ironing, lunch with mum and now I'm about to start crafting again. Hopefully I'll be able to keep you more up to date with going on's as my phone appears to be back to normal again.

Media coverage

Well I have to say I'm glad to see that the local media have taken the time to give a nice write up to the upcoming craft event at the SECC.. So much so that they are offering 30 free pairs of tickets!!!
This picture is from the Motherwell Times but I'm not sure if other papers are offering a similar giveaway or not so may be worth your while keeping an eye out just incase.

I'm off to do some more painting now so hope you all enjoy your Sunday evening.

Toodle pip!

Morning all and I'm glad to say there's some sun peeking in the windows today.

It's a busy old household here at the moment and there's nothing I like more I must admit. Today I need to go collect more some more pottery pieces for customer orders which I'll try and get painted up over the weekend ready for delivery at the start of the week. In addition to that I've also got the project to finish for Heritage Rubber Stamps amongst others.. Lol. Oh and I'm still waiting on my parcel to arrive so I can make a start on samples for the SECC too.

There's a craft bazaar on a few streets away from me tomorrow so I think my mum and I are going to pop along for a wee nosey to see what lovely handcrafted items are available and might even manage to pick up a gift or two for xmas presents.

Guess I better go finish the housework now so I can get on with proper work this afternoon again. Hope you are all having a wonderful crafty day too.

Parcel 1 has arrived

Well I knew there were 2 packages being shipped this week and the 1st has just arrived. It's a very sturdy wooden shadow box from Heritage Rubber Stamps. Sadly Heritage was completely flooded a few months back and all stock was ruined but now it's time to begin getting it back on its feet again and I'm very fortunate in that I've been asked to be involved in the re-build. Lots to be done over the coming months and I will keep you up to date as best I can.

So without further delay I'm off to deal with some other stuff that needs my attention today, then I can get a start made on this project as it does have priority deadlines on it.

Bunny comfort

Afternoon all.. Hope you're managing to stay warm in dry in this yucky weather.

I've been lovely and warm all day.. Housework is done and I've painted this little bunny rabbit today.. Isn't he just oh so cute holding his toy bunny and comfort blanket.. Make sure you don't miss his wee bunny slippers too.. Lol

Need to take a break now and see what's for dinner and have to pop to market too for a few bits and bobs before deciding what to work on tonight.

Sleepy time

Afternoon all and hope you've had a good start to the week so far. I've only got part of the housework done as I ended up sitting painting the remainder of my baby plaque.. Lol. So here's a wee pic of the finished project for you to see.

Time to make myself some lunch now I think, then I'll do some more cleaning before making a start on my melting snowman.. Another one I'm really looking forward to doing so the work will be done as quick as possible I think.. Lol

New Ceramic

Well folks it's 1am on Sunday morning and this is the first chance I've had to blog since lunch time..

This morning comprised of a laid back start followed by housework.. Yuck!!! Then we set off on our jaunt.. Off to the shops where I happened to find a new ceramics shop so had to treat myself to a few pieces.. Just couldn't resist this adorable sleeping baby and I'll upload a pic of the other one later on today. After that we had to do the weekly shop and stopped off for a costa coffee and bite to eat.. Just to ensure I had enough energy to push the trolley.. Lol

Back home and had a few important emails to deal with then I had to attend another residents meeting which lasted a few hours! Back home and then had to tend to dinner, animals and the remainder of the emails.. Oh and my friend popped by the house too for a natter and let's not forget the phone.. Lol.

All has gone quiet now so I've sat my bum down to watch a little tv and chill before bed, whilst trying hard to resist the temptation to get my paint brushes out and make a start on this adorable little cutie.
