Whoopsie..

Evening all and apologies for being AWOL this last week.  Finalised the wedding stationery order and locked myself indoors for 3 days to get all my Christmas cards made, signed and got the postal ones in the mail today.   Will hand deliver the rest at some point this week. 

Still to put the tree up, get presents and organise Christmas dinner but I'm sure I'll get there..  just don't seem to have any crimbo spirit this year!  

Anyway, I'm sitting tonight trying go get my project finished as I had intended on it being done already but hey ho..  hopefully the finished pictures will be uploaded tomorrow. 

Keeping fingers crossed that traffic isn't too bad this week going back and forth to work as 2 weeks ago there was 1 night I didn't get home till 8pm and last week I had a night when I got home at 7.10pm.   By the time I get in, do dinner, dishes and a little housework it doesn't leave much creativity time..  that is if I even have the energy by then.  Lol.   Thankfully I'm off from Friday right through till the 31st so a nice wee period to get myself in creative play mode. 

Well that's it for now, time to get back to screwing and sticking else you'll never see this finished!   Toodles for now.

Last order

Just a quickie folks..  sorry I can't share any more than a snippet but these are a couple of samples I've been making for my last ever wedding order.   Fantastic bride to work with as she's so clear and precise with her descriptions and I do love her classic colour combo.   This may be my last but it will be a memorable one. 

Today I've been a domestic goddess again..  miracles will never cease.. that's two weeks running now.  Lol.  House cleaned, washing basket empty and weekly ironing done and dusted!   Time for dinner now me thinks, after which I'll get my work gear ready for the morning before I snuggle down for some evening crafting.  Lots and lots to do with so little time to do it all in.  Valium may be required by the time Christmas day arrives.  Lol. 

Righty ho I'm off now as just had a notification from facebook so need to go answer my friend before turning the cooker on for tea.   Have a good night all.

Too close!

Oh my, oh my...  Can you believe that Christmas is just around the corner and I have no cards made or presents bought!  

Have been busy this weekend designing samples for my last ever wedding order.   I simply do not have the time anymore and next year I need to concentrate more on the design side of crafting.  This year has disappeared so fast but I'm looking forward to the new year and what lies ahead..  especially my new position on the Jones Crafts design team as I'll be playing with such scrumptious goodies.  

Anyway, I'm settling myself down now to make a start on the crimbo cards so its going to be a late night for little old me. 

Keep an eye out over the coming week for some little December projects as an advance preview of what's in store from Jones Crafts too.

Long day!

Evening all..  boy has it been a long day and I'm only just getting time to settle down so not much time to get anything done but I'm going to do a quick prep of my MDF pieces so they're at least ready to work with as soon as I get time.   Glad to say I've also started to get a plan in my head for the wing canvas so pretty happy about that.  

Well.. after a good old day in the shop followed by a slow drive home on the motorway, soon as I got in off came the coat and in to the kitchen I went.   Slow cooked my beef last night so I immediately started chopping my onion, crushing my garlic and measuring out my spices so we could tuck in to some delicious beef curry for dinner accompanied by chappatti's warmed through direct on the flame from the stove.   Oh it sure did fill my tummy and warm my cockles.   Nothing better than a good plate of warm grub on a cold winters eve.   Sadly this was followed by the mundane chores I had to do before catching up on my emails etc and now its finally ME TIME!

Last shift of the week tomorrow and keeping fingers crossed that the forecast snow stays at bay till I reach home tomorrow night then it can do as it pleases.   I'm expecting another lush delivery over the next few days so got lots of happy crafting ahead.  

Shocking I know but I haven't even started on Christmas yet!   No presents, no cards made, decision still to be made on this year's menu etc etc.   Beginning to think I'm a little crimbo'd out as I've been doing samples since summer time.  Lol. 

Well.. my MDF won't prep itself so going to sign off and hopefully get a relatively early night as its been around 2am the last few mornings when I've hit the sack..  nighty night all and happy crafting.

Bits & bobs

Another late/early post so short & brief as I need to hit the hay and get some sleep. 

Not too much to report today..  didn't get home from work till about 6.20pm then organised dinner, quick clean up, tended animals (including the old hubby lol) then put a pot of beef on to slow cook as I'm making a curry tomorrow night.  Yum.  

Eventually sat down to chill and after I'd dealt with my emails etc I tidied up the scarves and added some fringes.   Decided to leave them with that slightly scruffy look as opposed to straightening them all off.  

Also got a few wee goodies at work today.   Already got a pretty good idea of what I'm doing with the hearts, the wings will be components in a few canvases soon as I get time to do them and the mould was simply a must have.  Lol.  

Not exactly an exciting day but all the same it was a good day. 

Bed time now as the alarm goes off in less than 6 hours so need some happy zzzzzzz's.

Wearing my halo

Ready to bring the day to an end but thought I'd do a quick post before I retire for the night.  

Well I've been a domestic goddess today doing all my housework, washing, ironing and paying bills and actually quite enjoyed it for a change!   Think it may be due to a slightly more relaxed schedule this week.  Lol. 

Got excited this morning when Mr Postie arrived with my first DT kit from Jones Crafts and yes..  it was a box full of yummyness.   Can't wait to get started now. 

Over the weekend I've also managed to knit 2 scarves for my friends little boy & girl.  Just need to get the fringes on one then I can deliver..  just in nice time too judging by this week's weather forecast!

Finally tonight we had a lovely visit from Gordon & Brianna who brought the most delicious cheesecake.   They're heading off to Lapland tomorrow for a winter wonderland honeymoon.   Don't think she'll ever grow up.  Lol. 

Well I guess its time to wrap things up, turn off the lights and get some beauty sleep as its just after 1.30am and the nasty old alarm is set for 7.15..  need to get an early night tomorrow to make up.  Anyway..  toodles pip, nighty night and catch you all again tomorrow.

Evening all and my apologies for the lateness of my post.  Sadly this morning I awoke to the news of the terrible tragedy where a police helicopter crashed through the roof of the Clutha bar in Glasgow.  Needless to say I was left with a feeling of shock for most of the day as I only live about 10 miles from the incident and later this evening I found out that a chap I know from my youthful days was actually in the bar with his wife and friends at the time of the tragedy.  Thankful to say that they all managed to escape safely and assisted others in getting out of the building too.  Just goes to show how quick life can come to an end and helps put everything in perspective.  

RIP to those who lost their lives, may God help their loved ones find comfort and may he also look over those who are still in a critical condition in hospital.

Live life, love well, laugh every day and enjoy the moment.

So now on a much more pleasant note and as a follow up to yesterdays announcement of my amazing new position on the Jones Crafts Design Team, may I introduce you to the remainder of the DT..  Have to say my mind is slightly blown at the talent I'm going to be working alongside.  No pressure like!!!

DT news

Well folks I can now break the news that I'm part of the brand new DT for Jones Crafts Nottingham which means I'm going to be creating with lots of yummy stash from companies such as Graphic 45.   As if that's not exciting enough we have an amazing group of ladies..  including names I know you will have heard of such as the ubber talented Hels Sheridan so its defo going to be very exciting times ahead.  

Full list of design team members and links to their blogs will be uploaded on a post later tonight and hhmmm me thinks I better have a major overhaul of the old blog sooner rather than later as its been pretty neglected over the last year but now's the time to get that rectified so watch this space.

We've got some cute wee visitors dotted around the shop in the run up to Christmas.  So cute you want to keep touching them..  shame they can't cuddle back.  Lol.

Simplistic

Had an awful day today.. not been out of my pj's and all I've done is vomit and sleep.  How lovely!   Think the accumulation of painkillers and antibiotics finally got too much for my stomach and it decided to rebel. 

Thankfully got an unexpected email tonight that's made me smile but can't share the details with you just yet.  Won't be too long though!  

Tonight's share is a very simplistic card made using the Britannia holly strip and poinsettias dies.  Clean, simple and great for mass production. 
Well I'm off to lie down again as I'm pretty much whabbit (exhausted) and I've got work tomorrow so just hope I feel like a different person come morning.
