The challenge this week from Daring Card Makers was to make a card using peel-offs. Normally I am not a huge fan of peel-offs but over the last few months there are more & more fantastic colours & designs coming on the market & they can be adapted in marvellous ways. Whilst making some Fiskars samples I stumbled upon these pretty pink ones & decided to make a childs card. Peel offs were coloured in as always using my ever faithful Sakura pens. The star is actually a boingy one on an acetate strip.
This weeks challenge from Arty Girlz was to create something for a male. Like most people these are cards that do not exactly appeal to me as they can prove very difficult on the ideas front. When stuck this is what I often use as the letters can be adapted for personalisation & it's a quick & easy make.
Well, sorry I haven't posted for a few days but things have been a bit busy at the old chaperal.... Have been getting things ready for my Fiskars demo on Saturday & yesterday I took a tantrum & decided to absolutely gut the kitchen.. & I mean gut.....

Another week another Arty Girlz challenge. This is a 3 layer one this week, but for my middle layer I decided to use acetate to that the leafs on the leaf hand side are actually mounted above the card, as opposed to sitting flat. The base layer has been edged using a Fiskars border punch, the black images on the card are all peel-offs (something which I am not a huge fan of, but liked these designs), finally the flower was coloured in using Sakura Stardust pens.
Well yet another fab sketch from Papertakeweekly. If you've never joined in one of their challenges pop along now.
This is another sample I made for the show due to air on Create & Craft on Sunday 13th at 11am. Here I placed some lovely pink vellum behind the heart appeture, chalded through part of the stencil, chalked the edges, coloured a chipboard flower with my Sakura pen then used a glitter brad for the centre. Another quick make but I think it's quite pretty.
I have decided to dedicate this card to the lovely Kath as she is such a teddy collector & perhaps it will stop her stealing mine next time she comes to stay...
This was a quick little make (apart from the cutting out of the decoupage that is). Done some matting & layering, placed the decoupage on & finished off with some self adhesive pearls. I think this is a card that could be used for any occassion.
The challenge set this week by Papertake Weekly Challenges was under the title of "Thanks a Latte". Well fortunately for me this was a card I made a while back of a coffee pot & I had done it will a yellow & brown colour theme. I thought it was quite apt for the challenge.....If you've never visited Papertake Weekly, what are you waiting for pop over now for some great inspiration.
This is another card I made whilst hubby was at the gym. Larger than my normal make as I was working with an 8x8 paper & I just didn't have the heart to cut it (lucky I got more than one sheet in the pack). This card took a little longer as I played with the paper a lot. You can see from the small pic how I cut some of the petals so that I could lift & curl them. I also wanted to alter the colour of the flowers as I felt the paper looked a little flat as they were only 2 colours to begin with.
After doing the Saturday duties like the supermarket & pet store for supplies (inc a cage for my dwarf chinese hamsters which I am getting tomorrow), hubby popped to the gym for a couple of hours so what else could I do. Craft of course.
Whilst watching the Sakura show on Create & Craft today, I decided to have a little play with some of my marvellous K&Co papers. Did I have fun or what, a nice spotty background which I also used on the inside of the card some cut out flowers etc from other sheets, a quickie glue pen, foam pads & before you know it...... Bob's your uncle & you've made a happy little card. Now that's what I call cheap & cheerful..

Well folks, sorry I never managed to get any blogging done yesterday but that's because I was too busy having a great day. My day started off with a visit to the Markingworld warehouse as I had a little business meeting there for which I will hopefully be able to share more with you at a later date. In the meantime though I can tell you that there are two fabulous shows coming up on Create & Craft showing some marvellous techniques using your Sakura Pens. So make sure you either watch or record these shows.
Upon returning home the big TNT lorry followed closely behind with some more goodies to add to my Fiskars Kit (more for me to play with.) The post man then arrived & included in yesterdays mail were some lovely cards donated to the Maggies Centre by Bev & all I can say is Wow.... I do admire her work so much.
Then after all that excitement, a car pulled up outside my house & there was I wondering who the strange face was coming towards my door with a huge parcel in hand. Wait for this..... It was the lovely Gayle who lives close to me, so she had actually taken the time to hand deliver her cards to me which she is donating to Maggies Centre.
Well here we go again. Yippee..... Another design from 2sketches4you
