A PLACE WHERE CHAOS OFTEN PREVAILS!

What a 24hr period

Well folks it's another posting at a strange time for me. On Tuesday night around 10pm we had a horrendous fire on some spare land very close to us.. Flames were leaping 40+ft in the air with so much black smoke billowing in to the air that apparently it was seen from surrounding towns. This morning I popped down with another neighbour to see just how extensive the damage was and this is what remains at the air where the fire was started. There were also fences and trees alight way too close to a few houses for comfort. Thankfully 4 fire units attended and done an amazing job in getting it under control and extinguished.

To add to that I awoke this morning feeling a little blocked up and by lunchtime I was rapidly deteriorating so gave in, took some paracetamol and lay on the sofa for the rest of the day sleeping on and off. Going by the symptoms it would appear that I've caught a lovely cold! I've been freezing, boiling, coughing, sneezing, blocked up then runny nose. You know.. All those symptoms that we love so much.. NOT.

Well I have to say I haven't felt as crap as this for a long time so hope it's very short lived. Just taken some more paracetamol so going to head off to bed and see if I can get some more sleep in the hope it helps rid me of the germs at lightning speed.

Hope you've all had a better 24hrs than I have and hope that I'm feeling better by morning too.

Toodles for now

Finished project

Evening all and sorry for being a bit quiet over the last week but it was my Dad's 15th anniversary last Friday, I was demoing Sat & Sun, oh and it was also hubby's birthday yesterday so today I've chilled out by getting a little inky.

I used one each of the Art Parts pocket watches and leaves, some embossed aluminium foil, alcohol inks, distress stain, perfect pearl mists, grunge, inka-gold and idea-ology pieces. Now if that's not the perfect recipe for play time I don't know what is.

I decided to make a gift for hubby so the watch was perfect as he has a strange obsession with them, umbrella man represents his time here in the UK as it's always raining, the sea salt is for his home town of Huntington Beach in California (HB) so the initials have a joint meaning of his home town combined with Happy Birthday. Some small Idea-ology pieces finish it off.

Well now that play times over I guess I better clear my mess up eh!!! Aahhh the boring part.

Happy crafting all

Weekend event

Afternoon all and I finally managed to do an early blog post!!! Will wonders never cease.
This weekend sees the return of the extravaganza at Craft world at Hillington on Saturday and Sunday between 10am and 4pm. Lots of demonstrators as per normal will be working away teaching you new tricks and showcasing some new products too including the much loved distress markers. I've also heard that you're in for a treat with some Indigo Blu and that a very special lady will be demonstrating them so well worth a trip to the shop.

Well.. I'm afraid I need to keep this short and sweet as this weeks work agenda is overflowing with 2 sets of samples being worked on for C&C alongside prep for this weekends demo so best get my skates on else I'll be hairless by the time Saturday comes around.
Happy crafting all.

Lazy Sunday..

Evening folks and it's another late one from me today again eh! Really must start posting earlier in the day instead of a few hours short of midnight.

Anyway.. Last night was one of those where the brain and body didn't switch off till somewhere around 3.30am so today began with a lie in till 11am (shocked and ashamed of myself), followed by a nice fry up for lunch made by hubby dearest whilst watching a true movie which I won't tell you about as it was a sad one.

Popped out this afternoon for a few hours (nothing exciting) and tonight I've been poddling away again on some samples (sneaky peek in the picture) and would you believe it but hubby has just dropped a big drip of water right on to one of them!!!! Aaaarrrgggghhhhh!!!!!!!!! Question is can I manage a sneaky cover up of the water drop now? Well guess I better go and try to repair the damage, and I may just glue him to his chair first right enough. Lol

Toodles for now everyone.

Where has the day gone!!!

Evening all and it's hard to believe that it's 10pm already. This morning I got up and ready then popped off to Craft World to see what is on the agenda for next weekends craft event.. Arrived there around 11am and think it was almost 4pm when I returned home.. Ooopppssss think that may mean I lost track of time. Lol. Think it's better to blame it on the coffee, the staff and the customers. ;-). It's funny to say but although it's a massive shop, everyone knows everyone else so it's a very friendly place to spend time in. Needless to say I had to get some essentials too like ribbon, glue, a pad of resist to name but a few. Lol.

Tonight I've made a couple of quick Hunkydory cards as need them over the next few days and the next week is going to be spent making samples all day every day.

Think I'll chill for the rest of the night and hubby's informed me that he's taking me out tomorrow.. No idea where but with any luck he may treat me to lunch or an early dinner.

Hope you're all having a fab weekend so far.

Simply glorious

Afternoon on and boy what a gorgeous sunny day it is here too so I'm just getting ready to pop out in the garden to catch some rays before they disappear again.

Yesterday and part of today I've been buzzing away cutting, scoring and base layering a whole load of samples so they're now all ready just for the embellishments and final touches to be added. The house is all in order, the last of the washing is now on the line so I'm going to use the sun as an excuse to go cut the grass and do some weeding.. Truth of it is I'm off to soak up some sun.. Well they do say vitamin D is a necessity in life so best to grab it when the opportunity arises. Going by the forecast it's due to return to it's normal self tomorrow! Let's hope it proves the weather man wrong eh.

Well I won't get much done pushing the buttons on this phone will I so will say toodles for now and I hope you're all basking in sunshine too.

Good day yday..

Afternoon and happy Tuesday to all.. Well the week has gotten off to a good start yesterday but I have to admit I'm forcing myself to move today as I could happily have a day just curled on the sofa watching tv.

Yesterday we trooped off to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee for hubby to see a specialist. The drive up wasn't the nicest due to poor weather conditions but glad to say the appointment and drive home were much more pleasant. He had a few tests done yesterday, the consultant is writing to the gp advising on a change of prescription and he's to attend another clinic too which we'll have to wait on an appointment for. Then.. Back to Ninewells in 6 mths for a follow up appointment, by which time the consultant hopes that all symptoms will have disappeared which would be wonderful. To think of the years poor hubby has suffered and the many specialists he has seen who didn't know what to do to help and now we seem to have met a wonderful man who knows all about it and to us appears like he may be able to provide a miracle cure so we're keeping fingers crossed.

Think with all the pressure we felt under yesterday that the stress has now been released and today I could happily do nothing but instead I'm slowly working my way around the house doing the cleaning so it's just a quick daily clean for the rest of the week. Soooo boring but a necessity all the same. At least once this is done I can get back to sample making as lots to do over the coming weeks and I'd rather spend my time doing that than scrubbing. Lol.

Well.. Time to get back to the dusting I guess so I'll say toodles for now and hope you all have a fab day.
