Morning all... well what a truly awesome day we had yesterday at Brianna's graduation..  obviously a very proud one too as we witnessed Brianna being awarded her Bachelor of Music degree with 1st Class Honours...  she is now Miss Brianna Elyse Robertson BMus (Hons)..

For those of you who have no idea what Glasgow University looks like I thought I'd share some architectural pictures with you as it is such a stunning building.

This is Gordon and Brianna pre graduation

Really bad picture.. thankfully we got a really good close up on the video.. Brianna is right in the very centre of the picture as she is being presented with her degree
Some time may be required to translate this one.. lol

Post graduation... one extremely proud father along with his daughter

Post grad again.. Gordon, Brianna and Rob

This is where the champagne reception took place

Me in my attire for the day (minus my jacket)

So.. what's happening today.. hhmmm... off out for lunch with an old school friend I haven't seen in 25 years.. we have been reunited thanks to facebook.. and then tonight my Mum and Eric are coming up for dinner as Gordon and Brianna are coming over for a visit..

Guess I best get my bum in gear now as I still have to email the pictures to all the family over the States..

Brianna's award ceremony

Afternoon all... hope you're all having a marvellous day and the sun is shining for you like it is for me.  Here's hoping that tomorrow is another gorgeous day for Brianna's graduation.  So today I took my first trip into Glasgow University to see Brianna being awarded her Edward Caird Bursary.  These were originally known as the Dean's Awards and there were only 5 BA graduants receiving awards for the whole year so we feel exceptionally honoured that Brianna was one of them.

In the words of the University..

"these awards are granted to support outstanding students in continued study at the University of Glasgow"

We were invited along for drinks in the Foyer of the College of Arts Office where Brianna was presented with here award by Professor Pittock, whom may I add was an extremely lovely gentleman.  Where after they proceeded to have their pictures taken by the Universities official photographer... Hence why my pictures are at odd angles as I had to sneak to the side of him along with the other parents.

Thankfully Brianna was on the outside of the group and poor Professor Pittock has been caught in movement... lol.. So now that today is by with it's time to get everything organised for an even bigger day tomorrow... her actual graduation.. and I must remember to pack plenty tissues in my handbag.. I know I'm going to need them.   I'd have been over the moon just at her obtaining her degree.. but to obtain 1st class honours and a bursary award on top of that is simply awesome..

WELL DONE BRIANNA AND WE LOVE YOU MORE THAN YOU WILL EVER KNOW.

Must go now.. Mum has popped in to see the pictures... catch you all again later.

So excited..

Well here I am sat outside Glasgow University waiting to see Brianna receiving her award and the sun is splitting the trees here today.

As I was driving in on the M8 it really hit me just how much she has achieved over the last decade and now this.. I actually felt myself welling up with emotion so I am dreading what I will be like tomorrow when she actually graduates.. 1st Class Honours.. I mean what an awesome achievement.

Then after the summer she starts all over again heading towards her Masters degree.

Right.. Off to get on with the celebrating.. Catch you all later.

ME time..

Evening all.. Yet another late night posting from me.. It's been a very busy day.. Hospital first thing then had lots of business stuff to sort and phone calls to make.. Combine that with Brianna's award ceremony tomorrow and graduation on Wed.. Why did it have to take so long to decide on what outfits to wear.. Lol. Then on Thurs I'm having lunch with an old school friend who I haven't seen for 25 yrs and business meeting on Friday.. It's a rather jam packed schedule this week altogether and I'm looking forward to it all.

It may be after 11pm but this is the first chance I've had to play today.. Hubby has gone to bed and I'm going to do another bit of revamping on that old medicine cabinet I started quite a few weeks ago and it's just be sitting there waiting on me since.

Hope you've all had a wonderful start to the week and I'll hopefully manage to grab a few pics of Brianna's award ceremony to share with you all tomorrow. Off to play now.

Chilled

Evening all.. Even though it's less than an hour before the beginning of tomorrow.. Lol.

Have had a wonderful day doing not a lot.. Nice relaxed morning finishing off a scarf or two.. Well to be exact I knitted 2 and finished off another 8.. So not a lot done there to exhaust myself. This afternoon we went out a nice drive, had a bite to eat and then off down the park for a half hour. Also managed to fit in an hour of work discussing a new venue for craft classes so am very excited about that. Then tonight I've sat back on the sofa with my feet up for most of it. Glad it's been nice and relaxing as it's a pretty busy week ahead.. Brianna's graduation on Wednesday, lunch with an old school friend who I haven't seen for 25 yrs on Thursday and work the rest of the week.. And maybe a little bit of personal play time too.

Hope you've all had a wonderful weekend and if you happen to have any sunshine can you please send it my way. Thank you :)

Going to watch a wee half hour of tv then off to bed as need to be up at 7am tomorrow. Sleep well everyone.

rough it up a little

Okay folks.. I'm on a distress mission just now so lots of different things to do with your distress inks and I'm trying to squeeze in some samples of them for Saturday...  this time around it's inks combined with stamping and heat embossing...

Love this technique so much and on this one I've used another Clarity Stamp

Toodles for now my lovelies

Colourful times...

Here we go again folks with a another little distress ink collage..  this time around I was playing with water in my spritzer to create the mottled background and then after drying I used another Clarity Stamp to add the dragonflies and birds.

Distress inks I used were crushed olive, dusty concord, vintage photo, fired brick and faded jeans.

One of the things I love most about this is the illusion of depth due to the different levels involved even though it is nothing more than a flat surface.

Catch you all later again.

A little mixture

Afternoon all... it was a strange old day yesterday as a guy from my old neighbourhood died in a car crash and his son was injured too so all thoughts were with his family and praying for his son's quick recovery.   Hence my lack of posting until today.

Anyway on a much brighter note this is one of the wee samples I have made for Saturday's demo using distress inks.. I am not making full cards up as these will be left in the shop to be displayed on the wall so it's much easier to do if they are simply sample portions.

For this one I used my beloved distress inks (walnut stain and crushed olive) of course along with a little spritz of Perfect Pearl Mists (Perfect Pearl).  The timepiece is from Clarity Stamps and I combined this with my Umbrella Man.

I'll schedule some more posts to pop up throughout the rest of the day which I hope you'll like and I hope you're all having a wonderful day.. we even have a little sunshine here so think I may wander out and do a little gardening too.

Happy crafting all
