A PLACE WHERE CHAOS OFTEN PREVAILS!

Friday 31 July 2009

One for fun....

Had a wee spare 5 mins earlier so had a play with some more of the gorgeous "All Dressed Up" card stock from DCWV.
Decided to make a big card for this one so I layered 2 sheets of the card stock onto a base card & then used some flowers to write a "HI" message.
This one is going to be sent to my dear friend Gail who has only just started card making last year but is progressing very well & created the most beautiful scrap book for her mum's 60th birthday. We have been friends for over 20 years now & every so often she sends me a little card out of the blue just to say hi... so thought I'd return the gesture.
Well off to make hubby's tea now & hope you're all having a fabulous week.

Daring Cardmakers Challenge

This is certainly the fastest card I have ever made....
The challenge this week at Daring Cardmakers is "Bejewelled Bliss" & I knew instantly what I was going to use... they said they wanted lots of sparkle so that I had to do...
Now here's the recipe to the quickest card ever...
Layer a sheet of glittered cardstock from DCWV "All Dressed Up" onto a base card. Take some self adhesive glitter flowers & attach to the front of the card. Use silicone to attach some glittered jelly centres & a squeeze of "Fruit Punch" Stickles on the small flowers.
Voila one finished very sparkly card.... told you it was quick didn't I....
DCWV All Dressed Up : My Ebay Shop
Glitter Flowers : Craftime (Purchased from a craft shop)
Glittered Jelly Centres : From a pack of flowers I bought from Joanna Sheen
Stickles : Samuel Taylor
Well time to get on now as I've got the housework to do, orders to be dispatched & then I need to have a good old look & see what the next challenge is that I can attempt.

Update...

My Mind's Eye

SMIRK
Firstly may I thank those who contacted me regarding Rob's flu...
It is definately not Swine Flu but it has been rather brutal on the poor old guy.. thankfully he is feeling a little better & has infact returned to work today. Fingers crossed he manages to make it through the day. Unfortunately this has left me running very much behind this week so chasing my tail a little at the moment.
Thought I would let you know though that I have this morning uploaded some new products on my ebay shop including some favourites from the My Mind's Eye & Smirk ranges.
Off now to do another bit & with any luck I will finally manage to get another card made... keep your fingers crossed for me.
Big hugs

Poor Hubby....

Sorry I haven't managed to get anything uploaded today folks... but my poor hubby is really under the weather with the flu.
It started getting real bad by mid afternoon yesterday & think it has peeked today so hopefully if he can get a good sleep tonight he will start to feel better tomorrow.
I did make him some really yummy spinach soup & would you believe he ate the full pot... that too should help a lot as it's full of good wholesome natural ingredients.
If things go ok later tonight then I may manage to get another card done ready for uploading tomorrow.
Hope you're all having a fab weekend & the weather has not been too wicked to you.

Sugar Bowl Challenge

Here we go with my entry to the Sugar Bowl challenge... this time around we are working with a sketch from Gayle... who may I add is currently winging her way over the Atlantic in time to attend CHA... let's hope they all have a fab old time in the sunshine.
The "please include" option is also ribbons & bows.
Here I wrapped a length of ribbon around so some paper and layered onto matt gold card. Next up took a strip of another paper & more matting & layering took place. Then we had our bottom square which was paper again matted & layered and finally I stamped my image & water coloured using Bruynzeel water colour pencils. Matted onto more gold card & mounted using silicone. To finish off I added some gems & a bow.
Image : Daisy
Papers : All from My Minds Eye (Wild Asparagus) - soon to be on my ebay shop
Bruynzeel Pencils : Marking World
Gems & Ribbons : From stash
Well must dash now as today is my 4th wedding anniversary & when hubby returns from work we are going out for a little while shopping... not sure how far we will travel as we are both loaded with the flu just now but hey ho... life must go on.

Penny Black Challenge

Here I am again... 2 days in a row... I am doing well this week ain't I...
Last night I decided to take on the Penny Black challenge which this week is "Soft & Sweet".
For the base I used a lovely soft muted gold card, upon which I layered a sheet of paper from the new "Wild Asparagus" range from My Mind's Eye... then I stamped my image onto some soft cream card, inked the edges & coloured the image using Bruynzeel water colour pencils. Also decoupaged the flower although it's not too obvious in the picture (sorry). This was then layered onto another piece of the soft gold card & placed on the front of the card. Finally I cut some flowers from another sheet of the "Wild Asparagus" papers, curled them slightly & attached to the front of the card then used some lovely card candy for the centres.
Well no more gibbering from me just now as I have to get on & organised for the man arriving to attach a new wrought iron gate to my bunny motel. This means that my bunnies can still get plenty of fresh air even when I'm not around....
Also need to decide what my next challenge is going to be. LOL...

Pink Elephant Challenge

Yippee..... Here I go with my first challenge card of the week... and I'm so excited about being able to join in again... back in the land of the living so it feels.
Well I've decided to start with the Pink Elephant challenge as the task was to use an animal... well I'm almost there (ain't I....) but I just had to use this little stamp I got from Dimension Fourth as he has been lying in a bag for weeks unopened... now that's a crime!
Used two pieces of paper to cover the base card (sorry can't remember where it came from). Stamped my image onto white card, water coloured using Sakura Stardust (sorry you can't see the sparkle) and then inked the edges. Mounted the image onto the front of the card & used a bow with rose & some gems to finish.
Now that I've started... better get myself off & see what the next challenge is going to be.

Hello Again....

Well it feels like forever since I have last posted on here... it has been almost a week!
What a week it turned out to be.. had swollen glands & raging temperature from which I have now developed the cough from hell along with a lovely runny nose & the occassional sneezing fit. Not that I intend to let any of that stop me in my tracks.
Most of the last week was spent prepping for Saturday's demo (which Alison very kindly came along to visit me at... thank you honey) and at the same time I was finishing off a large Christening order. Order complete, demo by with so what am I looking to do this week?
Well I have to upload some more stock on the old ebay shop, do some sorting out in the craft room, really must catch up with everyone's blogs & since I am so poorly ill....LOL.... think I will have to spend a few hours each day crafting... well it is the perfect remedy to cure all illness is it not....
Already been on to some challenges & got a list to hand so guess I better get the housework done so I can get on with the crafting... and hopefully I'll be back to normal blogging mode now.
Hope you are all keeping well & I will try to catch up with everyone over the coming week.

Penny Black & Stamp Something in one.

Finally I have managed to make it back and it has been so long that I wondered if I could actually remember how to work good old Mr Blogger...
It's been a busy old week here as it was my late brothers birthday on Wednesday & on the same day my mums' husband was told by the hospital that they have finally found his prostrate cancer. It has been hiding well away from everyone for approx 5 years now & although all tests showed it was there, they could never actually find it... Good news being it does not appear to be life threatning so fingers crossed he stays in relatively good health.
In addition to that I have been working on a rather large Christning order & doing some prep work for a demo I have on next Saturday. Oh yeah, it's been all go here.
Alas, this morning, I have suffered enough of the challenge withdrawl symptoms so have taken time out to have a little play for myself & how happy I was when I checked the Penny Black & Stamp Something challenges because as soon as I did I knew exactly what I wanted to do.
Here I inked the edges of some white card, then took some yellow card, again inking the edges & using Colorbox inks to stamp my swirls as a border & attached to the white base card. In the centre I placed some green card and on top of that my stamped image. The image has been water coloured using Sakura Stardust. To finish off I used a Fiskars pop up punch to create some pink flowers & a Fiskars hole punch for the green centres.

Hope you are all having a fabulous time & enjoying this beautiful sunshine.

Another Sunday... Another Week

Yes I know it's been a long time & I have been trying my best but life has just gotten in the way over the last week.
Mum & her hubby don't keep the best of health & this week we've had Social Services out almost every day installing equipment for them like hand rails etc so most of my time has been spent there helping them out.
I have managed to get my hands on a new triple CD & rubber stamps for a demo I am due to do but cannot reveal all just now... perhaps in a few days I can. However, I will say I love them.
I've just been & checked out the challenges again & now I'm off to make a start as it is Sunday night after all & I think I've earned a nice night of crafting.
Am missing you all so much as I've been such a bad blogger of late due to circumstances outwith my control. Better luck for the coming week though eh!
Hugs
